In cosmetic formulations, Sodium Gluconate primarily functions as a chelating and stabilizing agent. It binds metal ions such as iron and copper that may otherwise contribute to oxidation, discoloration or deterioration of cosmetic oils and other formulation ingredients. It can also contribute to pH regulation and humectancy.
