Alkyl Polyglucoside (APG) is a mild, biodegradable, non-ionic surfactant derived from renewable plant-based raw materials. It provides effective cleansing, wetting, emulsifying and foaming properties and is widely used in personal-care, cosmetic and cleansing formulations.
Alkyl Polyglucoside is a family of non-ionic surfactants produced from plant-derived glucose and fatty alcohols. APGs are valued for their mild cleansing performance, good compatibility with other surfactants and ability to produce stable foam.
APG surfactants are widely used in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, liquid soaps and other personal-care products. They can also be combined with anionic and amphoteric surfactants to develop formulations with improved cleansing, foaming and sensory characteristics.
Because APGs are based on renewable raw materials and are readily biodegradable, they are particularly suitable for formulations positioned around mild, naturally derived and environmentally conscious ingredient concepts.
