Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) is an anionic surfactant commonly used in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, facial cleansers and other cleansing products. It is available in different grades and active concentrations, allowing formulators to select the appropriate material according to the desired cleansing, viscosity and foaming performance.
SLES provides effective removal of sebum, oils and surface impurities while contributing to the formation of rich, creamy foam. It is also commonly combined with amphoteric and non-ionic surfactants to improve mildness, foam characteristics, viscosity and overall formulation performance.
