Cocoa Butter is a natural botanical butter obtained from the seeds of the cacao tree, Theobroma cacao. It is a firm, rich vegetable fat characterized by a balanced profile of stearic, oleic and palmitic acids and a melting range close to skin temperature, making it widely used in skin care, lip care, body care, soap and solid cosmetic formulations.
Bulk quantities and customized supply requirements are available for professional buyers.
Cocoa Butter is the purified vegetable fat obtained from the seeds of Theobroma cacao. It is naturally solid at normal room temperature but softens and melts readily when exposed to skin temperature, making it particularly useful in products where a rich, smooth and protective skin feel is desired.
Its characteristic lipid profile is dominated by stearic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid, with smaller amounts of linoleic acid. Commercial specifications commonly show approximately 24–29% palmitic acid, 34–36% stearic acid and 30–40% oleic acid, although the exact composition varies according to origin and processing.
Cocoa Butter is available in natural/unrefined, refined and deodorized forms. Refined and deodorized grades provide reduced colour and odour and are particularly useful for formulations where the characteristic cocoa aroma is not desired.
