Mango Butter

Mango Butter is a vegetable fat obtained from the seed kernels of Mangifera indica. The extracted kernel fat can be filtered and refined to produce a light-coloured, low-odour cosmetic butter. Refined commercial grades are particularly valued for their good stability, smooth texture and suitability for modern cosmetic formulations.

The characteristic fatty-acid profile of Mango Butter is dominated by stearic acid and oleic acid, with smaller quantities of palmitic, linoleic and arachidic acids. This composition gives Mango Butter a balanced combination of firmness, spreadability and emollient properties.

Mango Butter is widely used in creams, lotions, body butters, balms, lip products, soaps, conditioners, hair masks and other personal-care formulations. It is also being studied and used as a cocoa-butter substitute/fat in selected food and confectionery applications when the appropriate food-grade material is supplied.
